Know All The Things!
Where are you based?
I am based in Thornbury, between Bristol and the Cotswolds, but I am happy to travel anywhere in the UK, and occasionally abroad. My most common areas to work in are Gloucestershire, South Wales, Somerset including Bristol & Bath, Devon and Wiltshire.
How do we book?
Once you’ve enquired and availability has been established, I will send you a link to book and pay your deposit securely through my website.
When is the final balance due?
Final payment is taken 2 months before the wedding. I’ll invoice you at that point and you can pay by bank transfer.
When will we get the final film?
In a minimum of 3 weeks and no longer than 8 weeks usually. It depends on your chosen package. If I’m very busy and things are looking tricky, I’ll let you know, but in the vast majority of cases, within 3-6 weeks.
Is there a contract?
Yes! Contacts protect both my and your interests. You’ll agree to my terms of business at the point you pay the deposit and they’ll be fully available for you to read at this point and any time after.
Will my film be 4K?
All but my most affordable packages are produced in 4K. Longer edits like speeches or the ceremony are deliverd in 1080p HD due to the file sizes involved.
Can I choose music for the video?
No. Music used in wedding videos needs to be licensed. I use various sources to be able to do this. I typically like to choose music myself because that is part of what makes my videos unique to my style, and it plays a big part in how the film is edited. I will check your preferences out ahead of choosing music in most cases.
Can we have any input to the video?
Yes and no! I will consult with you before the wedding so I know what you want to prioritise, or what you’re not keen on. Once I’ve produced the film, there can’t be any further edits unless there are editing mistakes.
Do you shoot elopements or destination weddings?
Yes! I love getting the opportunity to travel! Just get in touch to let me know about your plans.
Can I hire you for an engagement shoot?
Yes! We can find a great location and create some awesome footage with some beautiful light. Just get in touch to discuss.
Will we own copyright of the final film(s)?
You are granted a license to view and share the films created, but I retain copyright to all creative works produced. This is how it works for all photographers and videographers. You just can’t modify, sell or enter the work in competitions.
How long do you work for at an event?
You can book us to film for 10 hours or with the Diamond package this includes 12 hours filming. If you need more hours, we can also agree that.
Can we meet you prior to the wedding?
Yes of course! I’d love to meet you and discuss the big day. In fact I pretty much insist on it!
When do you arrive and depart?
This depends on when the action starts and finishes. I’ll arrange this with you. Typically, I’ll arrive at prep locations around 10am and wrap up around 8pm for a full day’s shoot.
What happens if you're ill on the wedding day?
I will do my best to source another videographer with a similar style. If I can’t do that, or you would prefer to do this instead, I will of course refund the full amount.
What happens if your equipment fails?
Film making is all about having multiple backups. That’s backup cameras, lights, storage, batteries – everything! We have all these things in place as well as 2 shooters at most weddings to ensure we don’t miss anything.
Are you insured?
Yes! I carry public liability insurance.
Do I need to provide food for you on the day?
If that’s possible, that will be very gratefully received. It’s a long day and being fed will help us do our best work. We’ll eat when you eat to ensure we don’t miss anything.
Do you keep backups of the files?
Yes. As soon as we’re able, we backup the footage we’ve taken and then back it up again when home. We archive footage once a project is complete and this is stored for a year. I’ll let you know before I delete any footage in case you wanted to order additional edits (where available).
